A GUIDING HAND INTO PARENTHOOD HELPING YOU TRANSITION TO HOME
Hey, new mama.
Bringing your baby home is often a significant transition and can feel overwhelming. All the different opinions and pieces of advice that leave you wondering which one is right and what you should follow. It’s easy to feel isolated and many of us are lacking “the village” that is so often spoken about. I’m offering postnatal care that builds your confidence in a calm and supportive manner, a guiding hand into parenthood.
Why have postnatal support?
First-time parenthood
Minimal or no family support
Physical limitations following a difficult pregnancy and/or birth
Mental health challenges
Sleep deprivation
Premature or special-care babies
Support from an experienced Midwife, Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) and infant sleep specialist
How I can help
Assistance with establishing breastfeeding
Education and support with baby care such as feeding, bathing, burping, changing
Assistance with pumping and bottle feeding practices
Assist with safe sleep practices, room sharing, co-sleeping
Support settling and sleep
Allow parents to rest/take care of self
Postnatal Services
A one time postnatal visit to address any questions or concerns you may have about your baby and/or yourself. A visit may include:
Assisting with feeding (breast, pumping or bottle)
Weighing baby, tracking growth
Birth debriefing
Assessing mother’s postnatal health and recovery
Education about newborn behaviour and expectations
Support with gaining confidence in early parenting
*Medicare rebates available to eligible Medicare card holders under 6 weeks post birth
A 3 hour postnatal visit to support you with early parenting. A visit may include (but is not limited to):
Assisting with establishing feeding (breast, pumping or bottle)
Provide primary care to baby to allow parents to rest
Sleep and settling education and support
Weighing baby, tracking growth
Birth debriefing
Assessing mother’s postnatal health and recovery
Education about newborn behaviour and expectations
Support with gaining confidence in early parenting
*Medicare rebates available to eligible Medicare card holders under 6 weeks post birth
An 8 hour package of postnatal care to support you with the transition to home. This 8 hours of care can be used in smaller blocks of 2-4 hourly visits. A visit may include (but is not limited to):
Assisting with establishing feeding (breast, pumping or bottle)
Provide primary care to baby to allow parents to rest
Sleep and settling education and support
Weighing baby, tracking growth
Birth debriefing
Assessing mother’s postnatal health and recovery
Education about newborn behaviour and expectations
Support with gaining confidence in early parenting
